FT, exempt, 72 hr/pp; nights vary as scheduled.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Acute Care Manager, coordinates a variety of complex nursing functions related to patient care on a daily basis. Assures appropriate documentation is completed on all patients, assures appropriate staffing levels according to patient mix and other pertinent factors; understands and adheres to laws, rules, and regulations relating to patient care; serves as liaison between nursing staff and physicians as necessary; gives input to employee evaluation process as needed; is able to react proactively to change and performs related duties as assigned.  Displays understanding of performance improvement measures as set forth by unit manager and participates in data collection efforts to support those improvements.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

RN Required, Washington State Licensure

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Preferred

3 years of experience as an Acute Care Nurse within the last 2 years, at least one year of which included charge or senior level responsibility

Knowledgeable in application of nursing process; full range of registered nurse duties and responsibilities; principles and methods of supervision and training; basic management skills; problem solving techniques

Ability to: Plan, organize, supervise, and evaluate nursing services on unit; communicate effectively; positively manage conflict and change; interpret licensure and regulatory standards; analyze and draft department policies and procedures; apply productive problem solving skills; write clear and concise reports’ perform registered nurse responsibilities according to the Washington State Nurse Practice Act; implement the nursing process.

BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP
